Glitter Puff Disaster!!!

Hey everyone,

Well if you remember, (and if you don't and are curious, click HERE) I talked about a lovely glitter puff set that I found at the Haagen Das Boudoir, which I am/was completely smitten with and I asked if anyone knew what cosmetics brand it came from . . . Now I know . . . Benefit!!!!
Exhibit A - The puff being discussed
 *Aaaarrrggghhhhhh*

Just even typing that name on my blog irritates me.  I have so far had a really bad experience with the benefit cosmetics counter, and I know it's really immature to base my opinion on a brand by my experience I received from their makeup artists rather than the quality of their products, but in this case I really don't care. I've never had a customer experience so bad in my entire retail life!!!

Before visiting the benefits store on Carnaby street, I've never been or even tried any benefit products, I was only going in because I ran out of black eyeliner and she recommended benefits eyeliner. So I dragged Joy into the pink post 1945 looking store to sample the eyeliner and the store was completely deserted!!! There were no sales assistant, customer assistant, makeup assistants (whatever you want to call them) insight. (which FYI is a invitation for thieves to steal the whole of the shop front stock and walk out of the door) but after having located the eyeliner by myself, I found a few lipstick (gorgeous colours) that I wanted to ask a few questions about. So it was time to put my Sherlock Holmes hat on and look for them and to my unsuprise I found them at the back of the shop, gossiping over the tills . . . Blatantly ignoring me. It took 5 mins for me to me to get their attention and ask for a price for their lipsticks . . . And then they went right back to ignoring me . . . WTF??!!! By this time I was soo irritated with them that I just dumped the lipsticks and very nearly dumped the eyeliner (which I specifically came into the store to buy). I just had to catch the sales assistant attention again (who had the audacity to give ME an exasperated look) and pay for the eyeliner. Now despite the awful experience I had at the counter, I really do love the eyeliner I bought but I know that once it runs out I won't repeat buy it because my view on the whole brand has been jaded by that one store. So sorry my pretty glitter puff . . . You and I will never be acquainted!!

I think I died and went to Haagen Das Heaeven . . .

No seriously!! I swear I did.
I look like an urban princess x
First off, I want to apologise for the shoddy quality of my pictures on this post because my camera decided to break and I was left to make do. Joy from Joy to the World, Erica from Erica Matthews and I spent Friday afternoon being treated to a girly night in courtesy of Haagen Das and I had the greatest time ever!!!!!! I actually wish I could replay the day over and over. . .or maybe just lock myself in the boudior forever (with a lifetime supply of icecream I think it was possible)
See what I mean . . all those lovely flavours
My boudoir session was hosted by the girls from Shoewawa who were absolutely lovely and totally knew their stuff. They showed us all the different dresses in the Haagen das wardrobe (so many designer dresses, so little time *exasperated sigh*). They also helped us compile different outfits, told us all the upcoming AW season shoe trends (f.y.i its all about embellishments, fetish shoes *yaaaay* and colour blocking heels), explained the Stylist pick website; which is great because I signed up like the beginning of the year and I wasn't too sure how to use it, and also gave me a few blogging tips.

I love this dress, it was just the right colour and had spikes on it . .and I love embellishments

I think the sun hat adds a lil something to the dress . .wish it didnt have a polka dot sash attached though loool
One thing I absolutely most mention before I signed off, The dressing room!!! Well the beauty side anyway. They had a few choice products out of show donated lovingly by NARS, MAC, Bobbi Brown and O.P.I. I got to play around with some of these products and I've added a few thing to my wishlist.
The glitter from the poff looks great in the light - Anyone know what brand that is??
NARS sticks in copacabana and orgasm, and blush palette in hungry heart
Love this colour

I love the lipstick . . but I think I love the lipstick stand more lool
Hmmmmm . . . .not sure If I like this pic or not but oh well
The boudoir session lasted for about 2 hours and I really didn't want to leave at the end of it. I actually propositioned the Haagen Das girls if I could rent out the boudoir room from under the feet. I mean who needs a bathroom when you have luxury???

Its so beautiful  . . .not sure if you can tell  . .this pic is a teeny weeny dark
Much Better - In the corner is a wii, a tv, games etc
The dressing room . . . I repeat I'm in love
All in a a girl an email =D

I didn't photography or anything but this pic is kinda decent lool
Their version of a shoe rail *nice*
The seat of luxury
Love this concept

Eating it up in Chelsea

That's one smart looking cocktail!!!
Saturday night, (after the TWOIB event) I went to Big Easy in Chelsea; an American-style grill restuarant and let me just say I don't think I've ever eaten as much as I did that night but the food was simply gorgeous!!!! And that's saying something because I don't actually like seafood.
A whole lot of lobster!!!!
After having a gorgeous Strawberry Margarita (made with a ridiculously strong tequila). The famo and I, sat down to a mixed starter of voodoo chicken wings, prawn crackers, corn chips, calamari, potato skins, jalapenos and tenders, and right off the bat that sounds like a lot of food but in person *wooooow boi* it is a lot of food.
How on earth did we get through all of this??
Highlight of the night had to be the mains. The twinnie's husband decided to order a fillet mignon, thinking it had to be the best and biggest steak he's ever come across but when his dinner came to the table, the absolute shock on his face  was priceless. It was the dinkiest steak I have ever seen!!! It all honesty it looked like a burger not a steak.Well the rest of the famo, (after laughing at him) decided to take mercy on him and shared our dinner with him. I swear after he finished passing his plate around, his plate looked like he went to a buffet NOT a full pledged restuarant.
His plate - Before
His plate - After (you can't even see the steak anymore)
Well it was a great night out and I'm going to post the last of my pics, all you foodies out there get excited x
More Pics x

Sunday Weekly Update #5

1) I honestly feel that I've spent all week playing catch up at the moment, I haven't actually done anything I set out to do this week and my to-do list seems to be growing and not much getting ticked off loool but you know I'm getting there . . . extremely slowly . . but I'm getting there lool

2) I'm going to try and push up my blog posts to every two days, simply because I've been inspired by the TOWIB event on yesterday, and the point raised that regular blog posts are key to blog success (content and personality counts too), so this is going to be like my trial week to see if I can actually do this because I don't want to make a huge proclamation to do something that isn't feasible.

3) I had my graduation this week and it was super great. I will need to post everything (picture wise) but seeing as I didnt take my camera with me, and my dad was in charge are of all the pictures. I'm finding it a bit difficult to get the pictures sent to me . . but I'm leaving you with the ONE picture I managed to take of the ceremony before my phone died on me

Enjoy

Champagne and Cupcakes at Givenchy . . . .

How 'Smart' is your Mascara?? If it's not Givenchy's Phenomen'eyes mascara then I doubt it has the highest mascara IQ

Now  this isn't a new product, it was originally launched in 2008 (I remember this because I originally bought this product on the plane *yaay duty free*). Anyway I thought I should revisit this mascara mainly because:-

1) It is AWESOME!!!!  I've been using this mascara for about 2 years and I love  the way it gives my eyelashes a panoramic effect. It manages to coat even the tiniest lashes and gives me a false eyelash effect on the days I decide not to wear fake eyelashes (which I admit is not often because I'm a falsies whore). Even though I am raving about this mascara I have to admit there is a learning curve with this mascara. As it does not follow a traditional mascara wand shape you have to ditch everything you know about eyelash application and start from scratch but I have to admit the results are worth it.

2) Givenchy are running a special makeup promotion at House of Fraser and Debenhams on Oxford Street, with a champagne and cupcake event on selected nights to give the public a chance to try out this mascara, (though I find it a bit unbelievable that peopel haven't tried it yet *shrugs*).If you personally haven't given this mascara a go, I suggest you hotfoot it down to London asap and get a bit tipsy in the process

The event is running now at House of Fraser from Monday the 4th of July til Sunday, the 17th of July. With the champagne and cupcake evenings being on  Thursday the 7th and 14th of July and at Debenhams from Monday the 18th of July, til Sunday the 31st of July. With the champagne and cupcake evenings being on  Thursday the 7th,14th, 21st and 28th of July

( I suggest you make an entrance around 6pm if you want at treat )

Sunday Weekly Update #4

This week has been utterly hectic. I dont feel like I've even really had time to breathe or collect myself . . .but having said that I'm having a bit of difficulty remembering exactly what I've done this week *airhead moment*

1) Blogging events - That has to be the biggest highlights of this week. I went to the Lash Perfect Lash bar on Wednesday and then Ifabbo launch party the Power Rooms. Funnily enough these two venues are literally right next door to each other (on being 34 Marshall street and the other 35) but in true Epiphannie fashion . . .I  still managed to get lost . . . despite using the map app on my phone *sigh*

2) Grad ceremony - My graduation ceremony is finally upon us and that means hectically trying to find an outfit art last minute because I believed I had more time to shop around than I actually did. After scouring all my online resources (mainly ASOS) I've finally decided on a cute lil' topshop number - (which details I shall leave a surprise til Wednesday)

3) I've almost (emphasis on almost) started unpacking all my boxes, suitcases and what-nots, but what can i say the motivation to haul boxes around and try to find the perfect place to place my kimmidoll Chika is just mentally exhausting.

It was Ifabbolous . . .

Ifabbo event flyer
You wouldn't normally generally expect a networking event to be fun or exciting, but yesterday at the Powder Rooms on St. Carnaby, Ifabbo managed to effortlessly pull this off. Ifabbo (the International Organisation for Beauty, Fashion and Lifestyle Bloggers) is an international organisation whose mission is to unite bloggers and help us all network. If you're a blogger you should really look into joining up, because if last night was anything to go by I doubt you would regret your decision. Alongside the absolutely gorgeous cocktails and mocktails being served,  were some of Ifabbo's sponsors (the Makeup Store, Boudior Prive, Paul and Joe and Murad) who gave us some quick words on the products on show at the event and  in our goodie bags. Honestly I love the fact they did this because I got to meet some wonderful people who were passionate about their products, including the team behind Boudior Prive who are just wonderful, and I think I might have finally found a skin product range for my Normal skin in Murdo *woohoo*
A quick glimpse at Murad's Cosmetic Range
The highlight of the night had to be the cupcakes (made lovingly by @thecakeinacup). Every single blogger in the room were visibly salivating at the mouth when these gorgeous cakes were unveiled, and you could tell that everyone wanted to grab one but the thing is . . . Noone wanted to be the first! So when Alyea and I finally gave in to the cupcake temptation (we lasted about an hour *so proud of us*), the cupcake stand was rushed by our fellow Ifabbo bloggers. Had to be the funniest experience of the night.
Aren't they so beautiful???
We all left with a goodie bag worth £250 and you could tell they weren't joking, as it had to be the heaviest goodie bag I've ever been given!!! While I was tempted to start trying out the products on the tube, I'm being a good girl at the moment, I will be posting a haul video later today *yeah my first* because I don't think I would be giving the products due praise if I wrote about each and every single one *there's just too much*

Enjoy the pics from the night x x x

Keeping it Lash Perfect at Lash Bar . . .

A bit nosy, aren't we??
Now anyone who has ever met me, or has the misfortune of knowing me knows I have an obsession with false lashes. I literally can't leave my house without them, they give a certain *oomph* that makeup can't always do. So when Joy from Joytodworld invited me to the newly opened Lash Bar on Carnaby Street, you know I had to go!!!

With luxurious chandeliers, soft aquamarine mood-lighting and boudoir furnishings, Lash Perfect's Lash Bar on the backstreet of Carnaby radiates quality from it's pores, which is not surprising as Lash Perfect is the UK's leading lash experts. The Lash Bar covers 3 floors with 4 treatment rooms; and each treatment room is washed in blue and white, and sound proofed to give clients a tranquil and comfortable experience (So comfortable in fact that one guest fell asleep in the treatment rooms while getting her eyelashes done looool). I could literally go on about the nicely furnished this lash bar is (it is that nice) but I'm going to move on to something a bit better. This Lash Bar has to offer the widest range of innovative treatments, I have ever come across, with its designer eye treatments, facials, massages, masks, brow definitions, makeovers and eyelash extensions treatments. My personal favorite has to be the 'Balayage - Flash of colour' treatment, this is when they add colour to your eyelashes. This can range from subtle to dramatic, and is available in blue, green, wine, purple, light and dark brown, but the purple has to be my favourite, it looks AMAZING!!!
Trying on the 'Drama Queen' Lashes from the La La Lashes Range
To go with a newly launched store, Lash Perfect have launched the Lash app which allows individuals to take a picture of themselves and virtual experiment with either the Limited edition La La Lashes or the  Lash-Perfect Lash Extension range. I have to admit this is one handy app, you can download this app from the App Store from mid July 2011.
I look just like the app said I would

Make sure to visit, you won't be disappointed
