Win TWO MAC Lipstick of YOUR CHOICE!!!!!

To round off the February #28kisses Lipstick Challenge posts that has been clogging up your blog feed for a month and also to say a big, BIG thank you for all the feedback I've had during the last month, I've decided to do a little lipstick related giveaway.

In other words . . .

I'm giving away TWO MAC LIPSTICKS of
YOUR CHOICE!!!
I know my last giveaway only ended yesterday and I haven't even gotten round to announcing that winner yet but this is just something that I felt I really had to do just to say a big Thank You to everyone and to add a little extra excitement to the makeup potion pot, I will also be adding a Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara and a Melvita moisturizing rose nectar cream to the prize. These are both excellent beauty products that have been given to me on behalf of QVC to add to my giveaway, which is amazing.

To enter you have to be following me on GFC AND answer my tricky giveaway question:-

I'm a huge Sci-fi and fantasy freak-a-zoid so my giveaway question of the month is

If You Could Have Any Superpower, What Would You Choose? Also Would You Be A Villain or A Hero??

A Pharmacognosist Skincare Approach

What is it about Natural Skincare Products that makes me perk up in my seat? After learning in 2012, what I am allergic to and which skincare ingredients should be avoided at all costs; if I prefer to keep my skin rash and dry patch free, 2013 is all about learning what brands stock products that not overly perfumed and fruit sugar intoxicated, which leads me to my newest curiosity Dr Jackson.

Dr Jackson is an Industry Leading Pharmacognosist; with a qualification list that reads like a blurb on a book, who has now launched his very own online store. His Kigelia derived skincare products were previously only sold in Liberty and Harvey Nichols.

I really wanted to highlight his brand because I love his aim and objective of promoting pharmacognosy (the study of medicines from natural plants) into the cosmetic industry and well as using safe organic ingredient where possible.
At the moment his product line contains:-

Skin Cream 01 contains Kigelia fruit extract, Baobab Oil, Shea Butter & Marula Seed Oil and has a SPF 20 factor. Skin Cream 1 is a unisex skin cream containing bioactive extracts and is designed to smooth and illuminate the complexion, reduce puffiness and have a firming effect on skin.

Skin Cream 02 contains Kigelia fruit extract, Baobab Oil, Frankincense &Mango Seed oil and seems to be the 0 SPF night time equivalent to the Skin Cream 1.

Face Oil 03 contains Baobob Oil, Marula Oil, Calendula Flower and Arnica Flower Extract, and works as a deep penetrating oil to alleviate dry and damaged skin and improve the skin tone. This face oil contains 2 base ingredients that are known for it’s anti-inflammatory and healing properties, which is good to know if you suffer from exceptionally dry skin or excema.

While these 3 products are designed to work together, I’m more interested in trying out Dr Jackson’s Skin Cream in 01. I know I am not allergic to seed oils or shea butter but I’m not too sure about Kigelia as my allergies tend to flair up with fruit extract. I know this brand is stocked in the Harvey Nichol’s Beauty Mart so I think I’ll pay it a visit after work and take a quick test skin-swatch to see if I react to it.

Get In Touch With Your Psyche

With more and more offline stores going online, I love it when I’m introduced to an online retail that has so much presence I wasn’t quite sure if I was looking at an online magazine or an online retail store. Psyche is an award winning premium store (think Selfridges/Harrods but in the North) providing fashion for men, women and kids with more bags and shoes on display than you will ever find outside of London.
I just have to show a few things I love about this website before I get into my top 3 items that someone needs to buy me to make me a very happy bunny

Can you see why I got confused?

I can’t even remember the last time I came across a retail store whose blog is ACTUALLY updated and worth reading. I actually think a lot of companies have just added on a blog tab because it is the “done thing” now but fail to really engage with it but I actually quite like the Psyche’s Blog and you can tell that it actually gets updated *Brands take note!!!*. Ok I’m going to stop gushing about the website now and turn my focus to some amazing items on the Psyche website that my sticky little fingers need to get ahold of.

Ok you all know I have a thing for feathers so I was bound to highlight the Maison Scotch Women Zip Detail Sweater. It just looks so cozy and there are feathers on it!!! I want!!!!!

Is it weird that when I saw this Juicy Couture Bronze Face Triple Dial Watch I didn’t immediately think Juicy Couture?? I don’t know why but I have this view of Juicy Couture only selling pink velour suits and pink related accessories. Well I have been proved wrong because this watch is just ‘Gone with the wind, Fabolous’!!!!
Pink, Patent & Ted Baker . . . YES!!! This Ted Baker Pink Patent Tb Purse is actually calling my name through the computer screen.
Ok so that’s what I’m loving on the Psyche website right now. I’m going to leave you now because I really want to have look at the Psyche Lookbook that I’ve loaded up on my iPad

Have you ever heard about Psyche before?? Do you feel that they have taken the extra step with their website??

Do You Actually Know What The Word Swatch Means?????

Someone out there really wants me to blow me top off at them but please understand that I am  really trying to get this across without swearing (which if you know is very difficult to do when I’m pissed off) but after receiving an email; *which fyi swiftly got deleted* about my lipstick swatches, I thought that I better address this now so that the next time this 'unhelpful advice' is given, I have full reign to rip off that person's head.

My lipstick swatches posts & lipstick gallery are all true swatches of the lipstick on me. If I add lipliner or mix the colour with anything (bases, lipglosses, lipsticks etc) it changes the true nature of the lipstick and defeats my purpose of even putting the picture or post up in the first place.

I have done this so that you have a CLEAR idea of what you are buying so if you choose to purchase a lipstick that I have blogged about. Of course I know that sometimes lipliner is needed to make a lipstick colour really work for you but I would much rather show you in black, white and pink what a lipstick is about and give you recommendations on some ways to wear it.

What good is it to hype up a lipstick to you and tell you that its a great purchase when I have done everything possible on this earth to change the way it looks on me??  I am really hopping mad about this right now but I really needed to write this post to get my frustrations off my chest before I demolish something in rage.

Spot It, Blog it, Speak It, Share It, Get Surgical With It.

What’s the difference between a PR agency and a Social Media Reporter? Well not much when Surgery PR is involved it seems.

Obviously not content with Fashion and Lifestyle, the PR agency has decided that they want to play reporter with the launch of the Apple & Android available app ‘Surgery Reporter’. The new app has been designed to give ‘aspiring bloggers, writers and photographers the opportunity to share, inspire, be inspired’ and be noticed.

Ok . . . so why am I telling you this???

Because I know that getting noticed and finding your online niche is difficult.

Everyone needs as much of a boost as they can get so a free app that offers users the opportunity to be entered into competitions for tickets to fashion shows, event & VIP experience both in the UK and abroad PLUS 0 the chance to be selected as their ‘Reporter Of The Week’, appearing on the Surgery newsletter, website, Facebook and Twitter AND credited on the Surgery App live site.

The App is really easy to use and Posts can be quickly shared through 3 options on the
app:

Spot it – Upload and submit pictures.
Blog it – Write and submit content, opinions and comments.
Speak it – Record reportings on events, shows and interviews

I actually think that this app is actually a really great idea from Surgery and of course you know I wasted no time scouring their live page to find the best pictures to show you.

So just remember

Calvin Klein James x Rita Ora

The Rita Ora x Calvin Klein party was held to launch the newly refurbished Regent Street Calvin Klein’s Jeans store and due to work commitments I missed out on actually meeting Rita O perform. Dang!!!!!

It was still a great night out as I got to do a lot of celebrity spotting while listening to Pixie Geldof showing off her DJ-ing skills with a hip-hop set, plus Lois from Bunnipunch was giving the fantastic opportunity to design her own mannequin for the night *cue mannequin pointing and posing*
