Christmas Challenge | Day 2 - YSL Rouge Volupte in Soft Beige 25

I know I wore a nude lipstick just yesterday so it might seem a bit redundant to be post about another nude lipstick but I was wearing YSL Rouge Volupte in 25 – Soft Beige, for my haul video which I filmed today despite being very sick and it’s the only shade I wore.
The YSL Rouge Volupte range is the luxurious version on the Revlon lip butters and comes in a beautiful metallic gold tub with a handy little mirror at the bottom *All the better to see you my dear*
I love that the lipstick shade is just so pink and soft, so I find myself regularly reaching for this (hence why this now has a lips-shaped imprint) as it is very low effort for me once I pop on my favourite nude lipliner MAC Cork underneath it.
The YSL Rouge Volupte range is very moisturizing (Winter Friendly) but the wear time is ridiculously short. I don’t think you could get more than 3 hours out of this lipstick if you are lucky so you have to reply but that’s not really an issue for me because as long as my lips are feeling soft rather than dry and flaky . . . then I’m one happy blogger.
Here's the video where I'm wearing Soft Beige

Have you tried any of the YSL Rouge Volupte Lipsticks before? How did you get on with them? Don’t forget you can keep up to track with both Ysis’ 30 lipstick in 30 days – Christmas challenge over at Le Beauty Girl or click my header to  keep track of my version of the Lipstick Challenge

Christmas Challenge | Day 1: MAC Amplified Lipstick in Half ‘N’ Half

Yesterday, Ysis from Le Beauty Girl kicked off her Christmas Challenge '30 lipsticks in 30 days' ; which involves posting a review on  a lipstick or lip product every day until Xmas, and asked me to get involved (and I really can't resist getting involved with some project or another). As her challenge started yesterday, making me a day behind, I am going to post 2 looks on saturday to catch up (as I'm going to a party so my daytime look and nighttime look will be different).

It seems like forever since I reviewed a MAC lipstick and honestly I don’t think I’ve really gone into my local MAC store since the Marilyn Monroe Collection was released last month (know that doesn’t seem like that long ago but for someone who is on first name basis with the MAC Makeup artist it has been a LONG time).I seem to find that with nude lipsticks (well on me anyway) pinky-nude shades work the best and the more warm brown that is thrown in the better. Cool brown lipsticks look HORRIBLE on me and tend to look like I’ve spent some quality time with a powder sugar doughnut but Half & Half is the coolest nude lipstick I own that work for me.
MAC Half ‘N’ Half is an amplified finish, which means that it is very creamy and pigmented so it gives a great colour pay off while gently moisturizing your lips. I honestly feel that with amplified lipstick you don’t HAVE to wear a gloss over it.
Now I’ve worn Half ‘N’ Half with a skintone-shade lip pencil (MAC Cork) as my lips are slightly pigmented and nude lipstick don’t look great with out an even base but this is a very true refelection of how this shade looks
Tune back tomorrow to see what lipstick, I pull out of the works . . .I think I'm going to add a tab to my header for you to keep track but be sure to check back with Ysis to see all her lipstick reviews

Review: YSL Rouge Volupte in shade 25 - Soft Beige

I have this weird unwritten and mental beauty rule when it comes to trying experimenting with new brands.

Always buy the nude lipsticks!!!!

For this reason I seem to have a very large (and widely unused) collection on nude lipsticks, but out of those lipsticks there are a few that I always use and repurchase when I hit the bottom of the lipstick barrel.
Gold Stemmed with an embellished circular ring depicting the lipstick shade inside, The packaging for  the YSL Rouge Volupte  Lipsticks are visually breathtaking and for £23.50 a pop, they damn well should be. The best way to describe its lipstick formula is creamy sssmmmmmooooottttthhhh. The first thing you notice when you try on the rouge volupte lipsticks is just how hydrating they feel on the lips.
The only negative thing I can say about this lipstick is that it really is not the longest wearing lipstick out there and I find that it only last a few hours at a time but those few hours feel like a pigmented and hydrated Caribbean holiday, so I'm still happy.
YSL’s Rouge Volupte Lipstick in shade 25 has got to be one of the most perfect nude pinky brown lipstick shades for ladies with darker skin and I thought it was about time it received some blog love from me because 1) I just repurchased it so it looks all nice and shiny rather than scratched from too much love and 2) It’s one of the prizes up for grabs in my May Giveaway so I thought you have entered the competition and were thinking of a shade to get, then here’s one of my recommendations.
