#28kisses and Counting | Day 5: Amped Up Kisses

I normally detest bright lipsticks with a passion but Sleek Makeup True Colour Lipstick in Amped is THE inly bright lipstick I own that has been bought with my funds (which FYI is why you won't ever find me going crazy for MAC Candy Yum Yum, I would never use it so why buy it??) and probably the only one I will ever use. I haven't really worn this shade much since I first bought it on a dare last year but a recent video by my friend Debra made me remember that I actually do have a bright lipstick lurking around in my collection.

Now despite her using the American National Anthem when the Nigerian or British would have sufficed (No Debra, I can't get over you using that. You're not even American!!!), She does bring up some very good point about bright lipstick on darker complexions and more importantly not all bright lipsticks should be avoided.

So with my trademark swatch smile, I am brushing the dust off my Mystic lipstick and wearing it proudly (in my house anyway).
What do you think about Debra's video? Do you get told you can't wear certain colours or shades dependant on your skin tone?

Miss out on MAC Stereo Rose Mineralize Skinfinish?? Well even though it's sold out in all the stores, here is your chance to WIN one!!!! Enter my February give-away!

Christmas Challenge | Day 16: Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Vamp

After treating my lips to a good scrub last night (it was about time!), I thought it was time to try out matte lipsticks once again. Please bare in mind that I only own 4 matte lipstick and they are all Sleek Makeup True Colour lipsticks, bought by recommendation of the blog wife Sam (who actually has a review on this shade so check it out).
Sleek Makeup True Colour Lipstick in Vamp is a very bold, matte lipstick that tends to act a bit like a chameleon depending on your lips pigmentation. I’ve seen it look pinky-red on some ladies and a deep-dark red on others regardless of the fact that when swatched it comes out a dark-wine red.
I honestly think this lipstick was a misnamed because it’s not very vampy. When I think vamp, I think dark wine or purple gothic lips but I think this shade might be a bit too warm but hey I’ve never met a vampire before so what do I know??
I personally love the formulation and shade of the Sleek True  Colour lipstick, have you tried any of them out? But more importantly what do you think about this shade?

Christmas Challenge | Day 14: Sleek Makeup True Colour Lipstick in Stiletto

I'm not sure if you can tell but I'm starting to run out of nude lipsticks to show off for this Lipstick Challenge, I guess I should have probably paced myself out and planned ahead what lipstick I would wear on what day but I never get round to being that organised.

I know it's Wednesday and I should have posted this yesterday but I'm slowly catching up and being where I'm meant to be.  Yesterday I had a very chilled day with work in the morning and a lovely catch up with my Grace from All That Slap who introduced me to the world of La Tosca's and delicious Tapas.
Sleek's True Colour Lipstick in Stiletto was the colour of choice and it is a matte (which I never wear). I do think it is a dupe for MAC Ruby Woo if you are looking in the market for a cheaper alternative as it does have the rich, cherry red shade which is sought after by some. Personally I'm not a big fan of this shade as it is not as pigmented as I expected it to be and made my lips look a bit dry and flaky.
I think it might be time to give my lips a well needed scrub and try again with another matte lippie sometime this week.
