I Frizz Ease'd Away My Gym Hair Nightmare

As I'm currently training for a 10k run, which unfortunately involves dragging my lazy arse to the gym and changing my diet, I've realised very quickly that the gym and my hair are not compatible. My hair is just frizzing up like crazy. My normal rule haircare products aren't really cutting it and to be honest the option of washing my hair everyday is just not feasible as I have extensions in at the moment. . . . I think it's time to call in the Frizz Ease.
If you don't know about John Frieda's 3 day Straight Serum then I think you need to click here and educate yourself on the whole range as John Frieda's Range is the:-
 photo bomb_epiphanniea_zps76dfba41.gif
I normally only use the normal strength Frizz ease serum on my hair and extensions when I need a little help in the frizz department but when I was sent the extra strength 3 day serum, I made silent "Thank You" to the Makeup gods for the excellent timing as my sleek ponytail was starting to look  . . . well you get the idea.
The 3 Day Straight Serum from the Frizz Ease range is designed to keep your hair sleek, de-frizzified and manageable for 3 days but I have found that it will last until your next wash so if you don't have greasy hair, you could push 5 days. To use this serum, you apply a little pump of serum to soaking wet hair and distribute it evenly from mid-shaft to tips. That is it!!!!
Ingredient wise, I don't really see anything that is overly troubling. It contains Hydrolysed Silk,  Algea Extract, Paraffinum Liquidum (emollient) Dimithiconol (silicone), Cyclopentasiloxane (silicone used to disperse other silicones) and Ethythexyl Methoxycinnamate (shatters/defects UV rays). Nothing to have a heart attack over.

Personally the only negative I have for the John Frieda Serums is that the pump can be a little fiddly and might require some strength (I find placing it awkwardly in your lap while forcing down the pump with wet hands works wonder) but I have been buying the Normal strength 3 day serum religiously for almost 3 years now so the pump is not that much of an issue for me.

I was also sent the John Frieda Intensive Masque and you all know how much I love my deep conditioner so I can't wait to wash my hair again in a few days time. I actually haven't heard much about their Intensive Masque but here's hoping it works wonders.

Lace Those Eyes

I’m not an eye-liner whizz. I have yet to master how to do the cat eye and get both my eyes to match so the idea of editorial worthy lace-rimmed eyes that probably took an experienced makeup-artist hours (and a very stiff wrist) would undeniably be out of my comfort zone . . . at least that was until Stargazer got in contact with me and offered me the chance to review their newly released; as in only launched TODAY, Sexy Eyes Temporary Eye Tattoo in Rose 3.

Yhhhh, I didn’t even have to think twice before I replied “YES!!!!”

The Stargazer Sexy Eye Tattoo works a lot like those tattooes that you used to play around with as a kid, in the sense that you place it where you want, dab the back with some water for 30 secs and then carefully peel off. I have never used a temp tattoo on my eyes before but considering I did this at 11pm last night (and my concentration levels were rock bottom so I ended up smudging the flick on my right eye) this was very simple to use.

I think these eyes would be amazing on a night out as without some oil and rigorous rubbing, THEY DON'T COME OFF!!

What do you think about the Stargazer Tattoos?? Love them or Loathe them??

Guess Whose Back aka Jetlagged Beauty Blogger aka NYC Haul

I thought a super long blog post title would be quite appropriate as I am celebrating that my flight didn’t crash (though the turbulence made it a bumpy ride at times), I didn't lose my camera; although I did come disastrously close, and the fact that I bought my little heart out.

I don’t want to bore you all naming and shaming everything I bought (because I can’t really remember the reasoning behind half of my purchases) but I will give you a sneak peek of some of the beauty products that are going to be making blog features during the next few weeks.

I will do a "lifestyle" type post over the weekend but I'm still trying to go through all my videos and images and turning them into gifs and what not.

FOTN : Coral Vibes at Caspers

Last Saturday night, I defied my usual lazy girl tendencies and actually exchanged my bed and fluffy socks for a bodycon dress and stiletto heels for my friend's 23rd birthday. I haven't been out in what seems like forever so I found myself running around trying to find a dress and an adhesive bar (ASOS & my premier account is my saviour)

I decided to keep my look a lot lighter and coral than my normal "smokey eye uniform" just because I felt it would go better with my electric green Aqua dress. I mean let's face it, how on earth do you colour match your makeup to a bright pastel green dress????
I don't even wear pastel green!

Using my Illamasqua Cream Eyeshadow in Linger; a light brown shadow that works as a natural base, I applied this all over my eye, blending it in with my finger. Using a fluffy eye blending brush I applied MAC Texture just above my crease to act as a transition colour. MAC Woodwinked was then placed on the inner 2/3rds of my eye and transitioned into MAC Twinks. For my crease and outer vee I used a mixture of MAC Folie and MAC Carbon and finished everything off with my favourite liquid eyeliner (which FYI is L'oreal Paris' Super Liner in Black Vinyl) on my lid and Collection 2000 Kohl Pencil in Black on my waterline.
Quite a simple look but I just love how it gave my eyes a lot more definition. I think I might just have made my Bambi eyes a little bit cat-shaped *pats self on back*
I really hope you like this look. If you do please love it on Baobella (so I can win a makeup course *crosses fingers*)

The One About MAC Haul The Week Before The Flight

I must be the only person in existence who decides to go shopping in MAC the week before an international flight, honestly WHO DOES THAT???

MAC Cosmetics is actually cheaper in the states (and FYI I'm actually in the states right now) but my “I want it NOW” nature defied my rationality and I had to make a stop to the MAC store the minute my payslip hit my bank account.

I would like to say first off that I am aware I’m on a spending ban (although cheating on it) so I didn’t go as crazy as I normally do. I steered clear of the lipsticks and bought items, which I felt were essential to my daily beauty routine.

As I don’t have any major makeup problems, I actually don’t wear any foundation, blush, contour, concealer etc. during the week, preferring to rock a lipstick/gloss with groomed brows. My eyebrows are a non-negotiable part of my beauty routine. I could swear off wearing any makeup for months on end but if my eyebrows aren’t allowed to come along for the journey . . . there will be a show of aggressive behaviour. *I’m just saying*
I decided to get MAC Fluidline in Dipdown as an alternative to my eyebrow pencil as I need travel appropriate brows that won’t need touching during the day and won’t mysteriously vanish after a nap on my flight. Dipdown is a warm brown matte gel liner that will suit anyone with brunette or dark hair as it will match your natural brow shade without making it look too dark. It is almost impossible to get dipdown on the UK MAC Website so a trip to your local counter might be in store (unless you have Lady Luck and some lucky charms on your side that is)
I normally use my Eco Tools Bamboo Angled Liner brush for gel-liner brows and while this does the job very well, I find that I don’t have as much control as I normally have with my MAC brow liner so I decided to get the MAC 208 Angled Brow Brush which is almost half the size of the Eco Tools brush which I hope will mean that I have more control and precision when doing my brows.
Last is some new concealer. I normally use NW45 or NW40 in MAC Studio Finish Concealer but I wanted to go for something in the middle that would be a little more subtle than NW40 as it can look very “striking” and I find that I normally have to wear foundation just add some subtleness.  I got NC50 which is literally half a shade lighter than my skintone and as this is still a new shade for me, I can’t really let you know right now if it was the right colour choice for me but give me about two weeks and I might just do a comparison post between the 3 shades.

I actually am still kicking myself that I bought MAC products whenI was so close to going stateside but in all fairness I want to explore cosmetics that I can’t really get easier in the UK, I wonder if I will even bother going to the MAC store in the end.

If I Flutter My Eyelashes Enough, Will I Fly Away???

Trick question if there ever was one. I would have to attach lashes the size of Dumbo's ears to start defying gravity *but from what I can see from some of the girls wearing false lashes in my part of London, some are very close*.
Eyelashes are something I always seem to have but always seem to run out of. No matter how times or how many flared lashes bumper packs I buy, I always run out!!! Today; while digging in my eyelash drawer, I came across this pair of Bird Lashes (RRP. £12.50).
I don't actually know where I got these lashes from I just know I've had them for ages but never wanted to use them because they are so pretty but as Baobella are running a competition I really want to win, I guess there is no better reason to wear them  . . . plus I don't plan to venture out of my house today and I don't really get to play around with makeup as much as I used to (I miss being a broke graduate sometimes), so I'm breaking out the bird lashes and some glitter and parading them around my house . . . just because I can!!!

My face, My rules!!!

(Until my dad tries to pull the lashes off my face anyway).

Ice, Ice, Baby

Sorry for the post but let’s face it, 9 times out of 10 when I hear the word “ice”, that chorus goes through my head *complete with beats and in rhythm head choreography* but as you can guess from the colourful photo below, I’m not talking Vanilla Ice but Bell & Son’s IceWatch collection.

Bell & Son Watches are an authorised luxury watch online store with the dedication of selling luxury branded watches at the best possible price and the guarantee to hold almost all their stock so that you can get them as soon as possible without having to put your email in a waiting list. They stock the majority of luxury brands like Sekonda, Juicy Couture, Guess, DKNY etc. but I really wanted to focus on their Ice watch collection as that’s what really caught my eye when I landed on the Bell & Sons' Watches Homepage . . . that and the fact that they sell the Ice Watches at a little bit less than their RRP.

The Ice Watches each have a distinctive theme running throughout its ranges. The classic range (which I personally think is the best known) is the largest range that Ice watches provide, which is split into four sections: Clear, Solid, Fluorescent and Pastel.

These are probably a color-coordinated blogger’s dream.

A watch color coordinated to your every outfit but if you are like me whose wardrobe consists almost solely of black and greys (the lazy chick’s classic fashion-combo) the Ice watches add a pop of colour to break up the monotony.

They offer free delivery on UK orders and I believe that that if you purchase a watch before 4pm you can actually receive them the next day. . . I wonder if I order it today whether it would get here before my flight tomorrow  . . .Should I chance it?

Know Your Ingredients | Sodium Chloride

Sodium Chloride is the ‘Big Bang Theory’ way of saying Table Salt. Sodium Chloride is used by many cosmetic brands as a cheap (yet effective) thickener & binding agent in cleansing products, so it is VERY common to see this listed in shampoo, facial cleanser, shower gels as it makes the formula look thick and “luxurious”
I think this is the ingredient that made me laugh when I found out what it was, when going through my beauty products looking for common beauty product ingredients to base this series on as it just seemed like I was taking my salt shaker off my dining room table and sprinkling salt all over my hair (Yes, my imagination has it's weird moments)

Is It Safe??

I personally haven’t come across any concrete evidence against the use of sodium chloride in cosmetics. Obviously if you excessive amounts it might cause eye and skin irritations and dry out your hair but let’s face it everyone knows too much salty food is bad for you so it is common sense to associate this concept with haircare and skincare.

I have no problem using products with Sodium Chloride in it. Products like Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray is defiantly a favourite when I want to get that Beach Tousled look with my extensions but honestly I wouldn’t recommend using it often or you might end up with hay masquerading as hair.

I know this is a fairly short 'Know Your Ingredient’ post but at least you know that this is one of the safest ingredients in use and there is no need for mass hysteria  and binning your favourite products when you come across it.
